(Des Moines, Iowa) -- Older Iowans trying to schedule a COVID-19 vaccination appointment will be able to get help starting today.
Dialing 2-1-1 between 8am and 5pm each day will connect Iowans age 65 and older with a vaccine navigator, who will help schedule a vaccine appointment. So far, the service is only for making appointments at Hy-Vee pharmacies, however other pharmacies could be added. Iowa seniors will need to provide their name and birth date, but no other information will be required.
2-1-1 Iowa says more age groups and other demographics will be added as vaccine supplies increase, but for now, the vaccine navigator service is reserved for those 65 and older.
