White House Tour Promoting Stimulus Expands from Iowa to Nebraska, Missouri

DES MOINES, Iowa - The rollout of White House appearances supporting the recently passed $1.9 trillion stimulus package is expanding through the Midwest.

Vice President Kamala Harris' husband, Doug Emhoff, is set to appear in Des Moines Monday.

He'll be joined by former Iowa governor and current Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack, although the time and location of the appearance has not been announced.

The White House has also announced that Emhoff will make appearances in Omaha, Nebraska Tuesday and in St. Louis, Missouri Wednesday.

Times and locations for those appearances have also not been released as of early Monday morning.

President Joe Biden helped Democrats push the $1.9 trillion stimulus plan through Congress, and his administration has been actively promoting package.

Iowa's delegation to Washington voted on party lines on the bill, with the state's lone Democrat, Representative Cindy Axne, voting in favor. No Republicans in either the House or Senate voted in favor of the bill.

The White House id referring to Emhoff's appearances as part of the Help is Here Tour. First lady Jill Biden has been traveling to promote the stimulus package.
