DES MOINES, Iowa -- Iowa will be getting more COVID-19 vaccine in the next 10 days.
"With this news, I'm pleased to say the we remain on target to open vaccinations to all Iowans on Monday, April 5th," says Iowa Governor Kim Reynolds.
She says the state expects about 25,000 more vaccine doses next week, which would bring the state's total to 128,000 weekly doses.
"As our weekly allocations continue to increase, so will the number of appointments available. Soon there will be enough vaccine for everyone," Reynolds says.
She asking Iowans to be patient as they try to get vaccinated in the days after April 5th.
"Once again, there's going to be more demand than supply at first, just as we've experienced each time eligibility was expanded," Reynolds says.
More than 500,000 people in Iowa are fully vaccinated--either with the two-shot Modena or Pfizer vaccines, or the one-shot Johnson & Johnson vaccine.
