(Jasper County, IA) -- A Newton man has been charged in a deadly stabbing. Police say 33-year-old Shane Borrego is charged with First Degree Murder in the death of 41-year-old Randall Mikesell Junior. Police were called to a fight in the 900-block of N. 6th Avenue after 7 p.m. last (Tuesday) night. Police say Mikesell had suffered severe wounds in the torso and was dead at the scene.
Police say Borrego showed up at the apartment complex last night to retrieve some property from Mikesell when the two got into a fight, resulting in the stabbing.
Borrego has been transported to the Jasper County Jail.
