Des Moines Public School District to Discuss Budget Cuts of Over $14Million

(Des Moines, Iowa) -- The Des Moines Public School District will be discussing cutting its budget by $14.3 million dollars at a public forum tonight.

The district says the cuts are due in part to falling enrollment, and it plans to make the cuts by reducing health benefits, canceling certain activities, and reducing staff.

The public hearing on the cuts is scheduled for 5:45 tonight at the Central Campus Auditorium and will also be streamed on the district's YouTube page.

To speak at the forum, you'll need to contact Erin Jenkins at (515)779-0499 in advance.
