FBI warns COVID vaccinated people about post-vaccine survey scam

(Undated) -- People who have gotten a COVID vaccination are being warned about a new scam that is making the rounds.

The FBI Omaha Field Office says an increasing number of people who have gotten the vaccine are being asked via email and/or text message to participate in a fraudulent post-vaccine survey. The FBI says the scammers tell vaccinated people that if they participate in the survey, they can get a prize or cash.

The FBI says no post-vaccine surveys are being conducted by Pfizer, Moderna or Johnson & Johnson and that any emails or text messages that appear to be sent from those companies seeking personal financial information are fraudulent.

In addition to the fake vaccine survey, FBI Omaha is also warning people not to post photos of vaccine cards to social media websites as personal information could be stolen to commit fraud.
