One man killed, second injured in head-on northern Iowa crash

(Worth County, IA) -- One man is dead, another injured in a northern Iowa crash early this (Thursday) morning. The Iowa State Patrol says 28-year-old Scott Caron of Plymouth was driving a Kia Soul that collided with a Toyota Tundra pick-up truck, driven by 59-year-old Michael McCoid of Manley, south of Manley. Caron died in the crash, McCoid was flown to Mercy Hospital in Mason City.

The State Patrol says Caron was traveling on Highway 65, (3472 Orchid) about 5 o'clock this (Thursday) when he crossed the center line and collided head-on with the oncoming pick-up.
