DES MOINES, Iowa -- A new ranking of Iowa high schools has the top three all east of Interstate 35.
U.S. News and World Reports says the state's best high school is Decorah High in Northeast Iowa.
The publication says it ranks high schools on student performance on state-required tests, graduation and how well they prepare students for college.
Pleasant Valley High in Bettendorf is second, followed by West High School in Iowa City. West Des Moines Valley and Ames high schools round out the top five.
