(West Des Moines, Iowa) -- A West Des Moines man is in custody after police say he kidnapped his ex-girlfriend.
West Des Moines Police say officers responded to a gas station Saturday night where a woman claimed she'd been kidnapped and assaulted multiple times while being held against her will. Police say the woman told officers her ex-boyfriend, Joseph Hansen, kidnapped her from her apartment. She was later able to escape, get to the gas station, and call police.
Officers served an emergency search warrant at Hansen's apartment, where police say he resisted arrest and assaulted officers as he was taken into custody.
Hansen is facing multiple charges, and investigators say more could be filed as the investigation continues.
