Tornado Does Minor Damage in Dallas County

DES MOINES, Iowa-- Storm damage in Dallas County Thursday night was done by a tornado.

The National Weather Service says a brief, weak tornado occurred at about 9:45 Thursday night over rural northeast Dallas County, about three miles south of Woodward.

They say the EF-0 tornado packed winds of about 75 miles-per-hour, was about 150 feet wide and was on the ground for about a mile-and-a-half.

The Weather Service says the tornado did minor tree damage, and no one was hurt.

The also say Thursday night's tornado warning was the first issues by the Johnston office since July 14, 2020.
