DES MOINES, Iowa -- A Western Iowa Democrat is announcing his run for U.S. Senate.
Dave Muhlbauer, a farmer from Manilla, says he's running for the seat currently held by long-time Republican Iowa U.S. Senator Charles Grassley.
In his announcement video, Muhlbauer says he's a fifth-generation farmer and a former member of the Crawford County Board of Supervisors.
The 87-year-old Grassley has not said if he's seeking an eighth term in the Senate in 2022.
Republican Sioux City state Senator Jim Carlin announced his bid for the seat earlier this year.
