(Grimes, IA) -- The Grimes city council has decided to use nearly $80-thousand in the general budget for two new emergency sirens. The city had received $35-thousand dollars from the Cares Act to reimburse the city for public safety wages and emergency equipment. City Administrator Jake Anderson says this freed up funds the city already had and therefore they can install additional sirens for the growing city. Possible locations of the new sirens are the North Sports Complex, North of the pond in Heritage, near 37th and Grimes Blvd, or the fire station on Southwest County Line Road. The sirens are scheduled to be installed this Summer.
