(Altoona, Iowa) -- The Iowa State Patrol is identifying the woman killed after being hit by a car on I-80 in Altoona Thursday morning.
The ISP says Cara Gethmann was walking on I-80 a little after 4am when she was hit by a car merging onto the interstate. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
The State Patrol says the driver unintentionally hit Gethmann. A further investigation is ongoing.
