KNOXVILLE, Iowa - Sunday's Indy 500 winner will be racing at Iowa's Knoxville Raceway in three weeks.
Hélio Castroneves will compete in the new SRX Superstar Racing Series at Knoxville's dirt track on June 19th.
Castroneves became only the fourth driver ever to win the Indy 500 Sunday. He achieved the victory at age 46.
Sunday’s crowd of 135,000 was the largest attended sports event in the world since the pandemic began. Attendance was still capped at 40 percent Indianapolis Motor Speedway’s capacity of 350,000.
Knoxville Raceway in south central Iowa bills itself as the Sprint Car Capitol of the World. It congratulated Castroneves for his win at Indy in a Facebook post Sunday.
