(Undated) -- Dry conditions persist in Iowa according to the weekly U.S. Drought Monitor. The northern half of Iowa is abnormally dry or in some form of drought. Several northwest Iowa counties are in severe drought. Hot, dry weather is expected over the next several days. The National Weather Service says rain is possible next week.
Temperatures Friday through Sunday are expected to be in the mid-80s to mid-90s, with overnight lows generally in the 60s and plenty of sunshine expected each day.
Showers and storms are possible early next week, with daily highs will remain in the mid to upper 80s for the most part.
