SPRINGDALE, Arkansas - A major meatpacking operator in Iowa is going through a corporate shakeup.
Tyson Foods President and CEO Dean Banks is leaving after less than a year on the job.
A statement from Tyson says he’s stepping down from the company and board of directors effective immediately for personal reasons.
Banks was named CEO last October after Tyson came under fire for its response to the COVID-19 pandemic.
“Being a part of Tyson Foods has been a very rewarding experience,” said Banks. “Upon deep personal reflection, and discussions with my family, the board, and my colleagues, I believe that stepping down and concentrating on my family is the right decision at this time.”
Chief Operating Officer Donnie King was named as Tyson’s president and CEO Wednesday.
