Davenport Police Targeting Fireworks Violations

DAVENPORT, Iowa -- If you want to set fireworks off before the 4th of July weekend, you might want to reconsider.

Davenport police are watching out for people who shoot off fireworks before the 4th of July holiday weekend.

Police say they're conducting a targeted effort to fine and possibly charge offenders.

Anyone who uses fireworks outside of July 3rd and 4th between 2 p.m. and 11 p.m. could face a fine and a simple misdemeanor charge.

Police say a first offense can cost up to 400-dollars in fines.
