Are you shocked that Trump was proved right again?

Just about a year ago - June 1, 2020, President Trump crossed the street from the White House to inspect the damage at St John's Episcopal Church in Lafayette Park.

The arson attack took place during trouble in our nation's Capital.

The left wing so-called "mainstream media" lost their minds. For example, Karl Gelles, Veronica Bravo and George Petras from USA Today ran a piece with the headline "How police pushed aside protesters ahead of Trump's controversial church photo" and the sub head of "A timeline of confrontation, contention and confusion surrounding Trump's photo op at Washington church".

USA Today was not alone. There was a collective media clutching of pearls! Turns out that just as the President said, they were all wrong.

Yesterday Interior Department Inspector General Mark Lee Greenblatt, released a report that said U.S. Park Police and U.S. Secret Service determined they had to remove protesters from the area so contractors could install security fencing. They didn't even learn of Trump's plan to inspect the damage until late afternoon.

"The evidence we obtained did not support a finding that the USPP cleared the park to allow the president to survey the damage and walk to St. John’s Church,” the report said.

The report prompted President Trump to release a statement. "Thank you to the Department of the Interior Inspector General for Completely and Totally exonerating me in the clearing of Lafayette Park!

"As we have said all along, and it was backed up in today’s highly detailed and professionally written report, our fine Park Police made the decision to clear the park to allow a contractor to safely install antiscale fencing to protect from Antifa rioters, radical BLM protestors, and other violent demonstrators who are causing chaos and death to our cities. In this instance, they tried burning down the church the day before the clearing. Fortunately, we were there to stop the fire from spreading beyond the basement—and it was our great honor and privilege to do so. Again, thank you to the Inspector General!"
