(Des Moines, IA) -- Des Moines Water Works has dredged the Raccoon River to battle low water levels and continued drought conditions. DM Water Works said in a social media post over the weekend the Iowa Department of Natural Resources gave them permission to dredge near the intake at Fleur Drive. DM Water Works is close to enacting their conservation plan, which would begin with a request to limit outdoor water use.
