Breasia Terrell murder suspect enters not guilty plea

DAVENPORT, Iowa -- The man charged in the death of 10-year-old Breasia Terrell of Davenport is pleading not guilty.

Forty-eight-year-old Henry Dinkins filed the plea Wednesday in Scott County District Court.

He's accused of kidnapped the girl from a Davenport apartment, shooting her, then hiding her body in rural Eastern Iowa.

Breasia was last seen July 9th or 10th, 2020, after she stayed overnight with her brother and Dinkins.

Her body was found in March 22, 2021 near DeWitt, and authorities confirmed her identity on March 31.

Dinkins was charged with first-degree murder and first-degree kidnapping in May.

A trial date has not been set.
