Person of Interest in Waterloo homicide in custody in Des Moines

(Des Moines, IA) -- A woman Waterloo Police consider a "person of interest" in a homicide is in custody. Twenty-three-year-old Shireca Wilson turned herself in to Johnson County authorities Tuesday, June 29th. She's is now in the Polk County Jail, in Des Moines. She was booked on outstanding arrest warrants, for violating probation.

Police are still looking for 25-year-old Marcus Sykes. They're calling Sykes "a person of interest" in the shooting death of 23-year-old Dayton Matlock in the 1400 block of Hammond Avenue in Waterloo May 15th. Two other women were injured in the shooting.

Sykes has an outstanding warrant for Felon In Possession Of A Firearm. Neither Sykes nor Wilson have been charged in the death of Dayton Matlock.

Police believe Sykes could be in the Des Moines area.

Anyone with information regarding the whereabouts of Sykes is asked to call 911.
