Lee Habeeb, author and host of the nationally-syndicated radio show "Our American Stories" will be in Des Moines and help select the winners of our first "Our Iowa Stories" storytelling contest on Weds., July 14th, at the Iowa Machine Shed Restaurant.
Tickets to the event are free, but seating is limited, so you must reserve your seats. USE THIS LINK to reserve your seats.
The event begins at 6:30pm as the finalists for the contest will begin telling their stories.
The winner of the contest will receive a $1,000 prize, the second place storyteller will win $750 and a third place prize of $250 will also be awarded.
Noted Iowa author and frequent contributor to "Our American Stories", Joy Neal Kidney, will be among the Iowa storytellers attending the event, which is being presented by 1040 WHO, Our American Stories, and the Iowa Machine Shed Restaurant.
