Waukee breaks ground on district's 5th middle-level school

(Waukee, Iowa) -- The fast-growing Waukee Community School District has broken ground on the district's 5th middle-level school. Superintendent Brad Buck says it's expected to be completed in the fall of 2023. The new building is one mile northwest of the new Waukee Northwest High School.

The district is also planning to build a pool at the site and has plans for yet another middle level school building in 2025.

Waukee has several school buildings scheduled to open in the next few years:

Fall 2021 - Opening of Waukee Northwest High School

Fall 2022 - Opening of Sugar Creek Elementary 

Fall 2023 - Opening of Middle Level #5 and District Pool Facility

Fall 2024 - Opening of Elementary School #11

Fall 2025 - Opening of Middle Level #6

Waukee is the fastest-growing city in the state of Iowa. It's population has surpassed 24-thousand and is projected to reach 35-thousand by the year 2030.
