(Clive, IA) -- The Iowa Lottery is seeing record sales thanks in-part to the pandemic.
Sales have totaled over $417 million so far this fiscal year - about a 25 percent increase over the previous record year.
"Every ticket that's sold in the state, the store that sells that ticket receives a sales commission from The Lottery," says Mary Neubauer, Iowa Lottery Vice President for External Relations. "This is going to make a difference to the bottom line for businesses across the state."
Iowa Lottery believes these record sales can be attributed to more people staying home and wanting a contactless form of entertainment.
