(Iowa City, Iowa) -- Former University of Iowa men's basketball standout Luka Garza is joining the Detroit Pistons.
Garza was drafted in the second round of the NBA Draft Thursday night. Garza led the nation in scoring last season with 747 points. He's the reigning Naismith Men's Player of the Year, and the first Hawkeye to win the Naismith Trophy.
He was selected 52nd in the second round of the NBA Draft. Garza's former teammate Joe Wieskamp was also drafted in the second round by the San Antonio Spurs.
