Des Moines School Board to Re-Evaluate Return to Learn Plan

(Des Moines, Iowa) -- The Des Moines School Board is re-evaluating its return to learn plan.

The School Board will meet Tuesday evening to decide whether or not to offer an online learning option for elementary school students, who are not yet eligible for COVID-19 vaccines.

The School Board says if it approves the online option, parents will be notified tomorrow Wednesday, and students will be able to enroll on Monday. The Centers for Disease Control considers Polk County as an area of high COVID-19 transmission.

Iowa state law prohibits schools or cities from issuing mask mandates.
