Ankeny Man Charged with Threats to Blow Up a McDonald's Faces Misdemeanor

(Ankeny, Iowa) -- An Ankeny man originally charged with a felony after police say he threatened to blow up a McDonal's is facing a lesser charge.

Police Say Robert Golwitzer, Jr. called the McDonald's and threatened to punch and employee and blow up the restaurant after realizing he didn't receive any dipping sauce for his McNuggets. He originally faced the felony charge of falsely reporting a bomb, but court documents filed last week show he's facing second-degree harassment, a serious misdemeanor.

Golwitzer is pleading not guilty. His trial is set for October 4th.
