(Waukee, IA) -- Tonight (Monday) the Waukee School Board members will be voting on Equity Standards to comply with a new state law.

Governor Reynolds signed a bill in June that bans divisive concepts, often called Critical Race Theory, from diversity training at public schools in Iowa.

At tonight's meeting, the four standards to be voted on are identity, diversity, justice and action.

The goal of the proposed standards are to give teachers a way to guide classroom discussion while making schools more inclusive.

The meeting will be at 6pm the District Administration Office, 560 SE University Ave., Waukee, IA 5026
