Climate Change in Iowa Could Impact Future Crop Seasons

(Ames, IA) -- Local climate experts say climate change could impact crop seasons in the future.

"It's pretty clear that climate change is impacting Iowa," says Iowa State University Geological and Atmospheric Sciences Professor William Gutowski. "It's pretty clear that climate change, as we're experiencing it, is something that humans are directly causing."

He says warmer winters could keep agricultural pests from dying off like they typically do and summers could bring heavy, but infrequent rain.
