(Jasper County, IA) -- An Iowa dies after slipping under the water at Rock Creek State Park in Jasper County over the weekend.
The Jasper County Sheriff’s Office says 9 year old Steven Streets of Melbourne, Iowa, went missing in the water in the beach area at Rock Creek State Park around 5:30 Saturday night. Investigators say bystanders found the boy about eight minutes later and began CPR. He was then taken by medical helicopter to a hospital in the Des Moines area.
On Monday, the Jasper County Sheriff’s Office announced that Steven died.
