(Davenport, IA) -- Davenport Police are investigating after an officer shot a dog.
Police say the officer was at an apartment building on North Harrison Street for a noise complaint when a large dog ran out of an open door and attacked him. When the dog followed the officer back outside, still attacking, the officer shot it.
Both the officer and the dog have serious injuries. Both are expected to survive.
