(Cedar Rapids, IA) -- There are new details about a weekend homicide in Cedar Rapids. Police say 40-year-old Jose Florentino Ramirez Landin died after being shot around 11:30 Saturday night in the 4000 block of 21st Avenue SW. Police say Landin was in a parking lot with others when another vehicle arrived and there was gunfire.
Police officers, firefighters and Area Ambulance Service personnel arrived and found a 40-year old male with gunshot wound injuries. Emergency medical care personnel assessed the victim and he was declared deceased at the scene.
Cedar Rapids Police say the shooting appears to have been targeted. Investigators have collected evidence from the scene and interviewed several witnesses.
