(Nebraska) -- After an investigation by the Nebraska State Patrol, Douglas County Sheriff’s Office, and Drug Enforcement Administration, a 38-year-old man from Chicago was sentenced to 10 years in prison.
Douglas Sibley was sentenced to 10 years for conspiracy to possess with the intent to distribute fentanyl.
Under permission, officers found two packages that contained about 4.5 pounds of fentanyl in a search on an Amtrak passenger train on March 5, 2019. They say the bags were found in luggage above where Sibley and his friends were and near his feet.
After the sentence, Sibley will be under supervised release for five years.
Investigators stopped him at the Amtrak train in Omaha that was bound to Chicago from the West Coast.
