(Des Moines, Iowa) -- Des Moines police say a man is in custody after crashing his car near an area hospital while trying to drop off a woman with a gunshot wound.
Police say 57 year-old Clarence Lee is facing multiple charges after crashing his car in the MercyOne Medical Center parking lot, trying to drop the injured woman off, then fleeing the scene on foot.
Investigators say the woman was suffering from a non-life threatening gunshot wound. Lee was arrested a short time after leaving the scene.
An investigation into the circumstances of the shooting is ongoing.
