Man arrested in Iowa toddler's death

(Hampton, IA) -- Police in northern Iowa have made an arrest in a toddler's death last month. Hampton Police say the 23-month-old boy died of multiple blunt force injuries. Jhonny Salvatore Suarez Rivera has been charged with first degree murder, and child endangerment resulting in death. The child had been in Rivera's care.

Police say the toddler arrived at Franklin General Hospital by private vehicle the afternoon of August 1st, and died a short time later.

An autopsy found the child had multiple blunt force trauma injuries, and the death was ruled a homicide.
