(Des Moines, Iowa) -- Des Moines is home to one of the longest-running big band jazz orchestras in the country. The Des Moines Big Band started in 1959 as a rehearsal band, then began playing live a few years later.
The 18-piece jazz orchestra will perform weekly at Noce in downtown Des Moines starting tonight through May, from 7pm to 10pm. The band's repertoire ranges from big band classics to modern arrangements, some of which were written by Iowa composers specifically for the band.
You can order tickets online through Noce's website. Noce's current COVID-19 policies require patrons to show proof of vaccination or a negative COVID test within the last 48 hours.
