AMES, Iowa -- Southbound Interstate 35 is closed at U.S. Highway 30 near Ames after an accident Tuesday afternoon.
The Iowa Department of Transportation says the accident, involving a number of vehicles, happened near the Iowa Highway 210 exit.
Southbound traffic should detour on Highway 30 west to Highway 69 south in Ames.
The IDOT says also traffic in the northbound lanes of I-35 in the accident area is also moving slowly with emergency response vehicles in the area.
