(Story County, IA) -- Two people are dead after a multi-car collision on Interstate 35 south of Ames Tuesday afternoon. According to the Iowa State Patrol, a semi crashed into the trailer of another semi, then hitting a van and a truck. This collision pushed the truck into the back of another semi.
Officials say the driver and the passenger of the truck were pronounced dead. A third person was also injured in the crash.
Southbound Interstate 35 was closed at Highway 30 for several hours in the afternoon into the early evening.
