(Undated) -- The Animal Rescue League of Iowa's reminding city park and rec departments and youth soccer programs about a common problem this time of year, deer that get tangled in the nets of soccer goals.
The ARL posted a video to Facebook recently showing an ARL officer at a central Iowa middle school to help a doe that became tangled. The ARL says the deer thrashed around trying to get free, but made it worse. The officer used a knife to cut the net and free the deer.
The ARL says it was the second time in days that staff had to help a deer caught. The ARL highly recommends nets be removed or put away in storage when they're not in use.
