(Des Moines, IA) -- Des Moines' historic Hoyt Sherman Theater is in the midst of a busy pandemic come-back. Executive Director Robert Warren says the fall and winter months are typically busy, but this fall is busier than normal. The theater has nearly 30-performances planned between now and the end of 2021. He says many of performers idled last year due to pandemic shutdowns resumed their regional and national tours this year and are facing pressure to get the performances in before the end of the year.
Warren says during the pandemic, Hoyt Sherman completed a number of renovation projects to the historic structure, and are now welcoming back performers and guests.
Hoyt Sherman Place opened as a theater in the early 1900s, and seats just over 1,200.
