(Des Moines, IA) -- There are four variants of influenza this year including H1N1. Experts say now is the time to get the flu shot before the winter season. Hy-Vee's Chief Medical Officer Dr. Daniel Fick says more people may catch the flu this year since more people are out in about compared to last winter with the pandemic. Fick also says it's safe for people to get their flu shot the same time they get a COVID shot. He says most medical insurance policies pay for the flu vaccine. Flu season is during winter and Fick says it's better to get the shot now so people are covered when the season hits.
