(Des Moines, IA) -- Court Avenue in Des Moines is no longer being blocked off on weekends because of a lack of funding. Earlier this year Polk County and the City of Des Moines started paying to have areas around Court blocked on the weekends to help prevent crime. The city stopped blocking off Court last month, but city and county leaders say they support starting it again in the future. Though it's unclear where the funding will come from.
