(Ames, Iowa) -- Ames High School is looking for a new principal. The Ames Community School District sent out a letter saying Dr. Valery Nyberg is no longer Ames High's principal, as of Tuesday.
The district has not specified the reasons for Nyberg's departure. She had been the school's principal since January of 2020.
The announcement adds to a list of changes in the district. A new Ames High School is scheduled to open beginning next school year, and the district superintendent's role has yet to be filled after the resignation of previous superintendent Jenny Risner in May.
