(Des Moines, IA) -- Des Moines police say a lot of the illegal drugs in Iowa are coming from Mexico. Sergeant Paul Parizek tells WHO-13 last week their narcotics investigators seized 25 pounds of meth and about 50-thousand dollars in Des Moines. Parizek says drug dealers are buying the drugs from cartels at the Mexico border and selling them in Iowa for a profit. He says that one seizure was more meth than they found in all of 2020.
