(Omaha, NE) -- Two Omaha Public Power District workers were taken to the hospital today, after a problem with routine testing of electrical equipment. OPPD says there was a malfunction, causing couple hundred power outages Tuesday morning.

Outages were reported near 52nd and Leavenworth Streets. OPPD says there was an arc flash, which happens when electricity finds an unintended path to the ground.

The two lineworkers were sent to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. OPPD says an investigation is ongoing into what led to the arc flash.
