(Linn County, IA) -- A Chicago man's accused of leading police on a 100-mile per hour chase in eastern Iowa. Police say it started with a robbery in Lisbon yesterday (Wednesday) shortly before 5 p.m. The Mt.Vernon-Lisbon Police Department says the suspect was seen driving a dark blue Lexus with no plates, westbound on Business 30 toward Mount Vernon.
The Linn County Sheriff's Office spotted the vehicle west of Mount Vernon and tried to stop the driver. The driver refused to stop and led the deputy on a chase. Deputies used spike strips and the chase ended near Mechanicsville, due to dangerous conditions. The Clinton County Sheriff's Office later arrested the suspect, 28-year-old Marcello Thrash, after a second chase that ended on Highway 30 east of Anamosa Road.
Thrash was taken into custody in Clinton County for eluding, charges are pending in Linn County.
