(Cedar Rapids, IA) -- Cedar Rapids Police say a teen has admitted killing his parents. Police were called to a home on the city's northeast side early this (Thursday) morning about a suspicious person. They arrived at 361 Carnaby Drive NE, and found a 17-year-old boy, covered in blood, sitting outside a home. The teen told officers he had killed his parents.
Police are identifying those killed as 42-year-old Casey Arthur Orton, and 41-year-old Misty Dawn Scott Slade.
Their son, 17-year-old Ethan Orton has been arrested for two counts of Murder-1stDegree. Due to the seriousness of the offenses the 17-year old’s charges were direct filed to adult court. Ethan Orton was transported to the Linn County Detention Center. He is accused of using a knife and axe to kill his mother and father.
