(Undated) -- Iowa leaders will soon begin testing the state's drinking water for potentially dangerous chemicals. Environmental health leaders say chemicals that are commonly known as forever chemicals can sometimes be found in drinking water and can accumulate in the body and cause cancer. That's why the Iowa Department of Natural Resources plans to test the state's drinking water, starting in central Iowa in a few weeks. Iowa's drinking water was last tested for forever chemicals from 2013 to 2015 and no dangerous chemicals were found.
