(Newton, IA) -- A wind turbine blade manufacturer is closing its plant in Newton, costing hundreds of jobs. TPI Composites announced Monday wind blade production will stop on December 31st. That's when over 700 workers will lose their jobs. TPI says one of the biggest reasons for the closure is because General Electric hasn't ordered any blades for 2022. TPI is Jasper County's largest employer.
