Iowa Ranks 23rd For Mental Health

(Undated) -- A new report says Iowa is in the middle when it comes to state's residents' mental health. Mental Health America says Iowa is 23rd overall in its latest rankings. MHA considers over a dozen mental health factors. For some of those, Iowa's best is in the category of access to mental care for adults where it ranks 14th. But placed 31st for kids' access. The report says Iowa needs more mental health workers, making the state 18th in workforce need. The state that ranks best for mental health overall is Massachusetts. Nevada is ranked last.
